marking a square line in the middle of the seesaw plank

Mark the center of the seesaw plank

Measure and find the middle of the seesaw plank.

Draw a square line across the middle of the seesaw plank using a set square.

marking the lines for the pivot bar in the middle of the seesaw plank

Mark for the pivot bar

Draw two more square lines. One each side of the middle line.

Make the two outside lines the same distance apart as the outside diameter of the pivot bar (water pipe).

Ensure that the two outside lines are equidistant (the same distance apart) from the middle line.

placing the pivot bar on the seesaw plank

Position the pivot bar

Partially hammer in three nails as shown in the drawings.

The nails are to hold the pivot bar in place and stop it from moving until it can be fastened.

Place the pivot bar on the seesaw plank between the nails. Ensure each end overhangs the sides of the plank by the same amount.
